In a series of candid interviews, Jennifer Lopez revealed how she’s shifted her focus from relentless career pursuits to being present for her 17‑year‑old twins, Max and Emme.
Lopez told Spain’s El PaÃs that she once battled deep guilt as a working mother. “I was a working mom when they were little. They probably didn’t get as much of me as they wanted, right?” she reflected, adding, “you always have that guilt… ‘I should’ve stayed home’”.
Still, she takes pride in the life experiences she gave them: “Looking back… it was an amazing experience… I was glad that I was able to take them around the world”.
The pop star also discussed pausing her 2024 This Is Me... Now tour to spend time with her family. Describing the move as “the best decision I’ve ever made,”
Lopez explained how the break arose during personal upheaval following her split from Ben Affleck.
Instead of stage lights, Lopez now finds joy in her children’s honesty — even when it stings.
She shared with E! News how Max and Emme can be “brutally honest” about her work, providing perspectives “because they’re from a different generation”.
And that honesty includes making choices: they recently told her they prefer her early 2000s music to her current hits — a “good ouch,” she admits.
Through these decisions — from tour postponement to embracing vulnerability and parenting balance — Lopez underscores one simple truth: career and parenthood don’t have to be mutually exclusive, but her kids come first.
What do you think? How should public figures balance professional success with family life?
