Maluma Becomes First Man to Be Featured on Elle Cover

Colombian singer Maluma, who started recording at the young age of 16, is now in a new league!

Maluma is Elle's cover star for February 2021, becoming the first man to earn such prestigious recognition.

The 27-year-old announced the good news on Instagram. Along with the cover photo, he wrote: "IT'S MALUMA BABY!!!!! Thank u @elleusa for making me the first male on the cover of the magazine, this means a lottttt to me! Let's keep dreaming and achieving."



Maluma's popularity has continued to soar despite the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic that halted his world tour last year.

What's next for Maluma? The "Chantaje" singer will star in Jennifer Lopez's romantic comedy, "Marry Me," which is set to be released in May.

The film stars Maluma as Bastian, who was engaged to Lopez's character until she learned he was lying. When she discovered the truth, she struck up a romance with a math teacher, played by Owen Wilson.

In 2012, the singer released his debut album entitled "Magia." His breakthrough album came in 2015, with "Pretty Boy, Dirty Boy," which led to many successful collaborations with several artists.

In 2018, he released "F.A.M.E." to more commercial success. Following that, he released "11:11" in 2019 and "Papi Juancho," which was released without further announcement in 2020.

Maluma's single "Hawai" peaked at number three on Billboard Global 200 and became the first number one single on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart.
