"Thank you for caring about my family so much that she would want me to share this information with you," Taylor concluded her post. "I hope and pray that you never get news like this."

Andrea's cancer went into remission. However, in March 2019, Taylor revealed in a personal essay for Elle that her mom's cancer had returned.

Taylor said her mother's cancer was a real problem. She discussed her mom's vulnerability in her song titled "Soon You'll Get Better."

Her "Lover" tour was only meant to be four stadium dates in America, as well as a trip around European festival circuits.

Taylor explained to Variety that she does not want to work too much right now, given everything going on at home.

When asked whether Andrea was her utmost concern, Taylor said: “Yeah, that’s it. That’s the reason.”

She called her mother her "guiding force." Before making any decision, Taylor confided in her mother first.

Andrea continued to experience health issues when a brain tumor was uncovered. Doctors discovered the tumor while she was being treated.

Taylor said that they are having a difficult time as a family since learning of her mom's brain tumor.
