In 2021, he was accused of a range of offenses including sexual abuse, harassment, and inappropriate behavior toward several women. These allegations resulted in a Discovery+ docuseries entitled "House of Hammer".

In the interview, Mr. Hammer spoke about the impact of the accusations and disclosed that he had considered taking his own life.

He also revealed that he was sexually abused by a youth pastor when he was 13 years of age. The actor has denied any wrongdoing and stated that while he may be considered an "as**ole", he did not commit a crime.

Mr. Hammer explained, "I would have these younger women in their mid-20s, and I’m in my 30s. I was a successful actor at the time. They could have been happy to just be with me and would have said yes to things that maybe they wouldn’t have said yes to on their own. That’s an imbalance of power in the situation."

According to reports, the actor is currently in the process of recovery through various rehabilitation facilities and programs, and is allegedly working with a sober companion.

He expressed gratitude for his life and recovery and indicated that he would not go back and change the events that have occurred.

Mr. Hammer also spoke about his friendship with actor Robert Downey Jr., who similarly faced rehabilitation in his personal life and career.
