Last week, during a family vacation for spring break, Chuck Morris, a 47-year-old percussionist for Colorado's Lotus band, and his 20-year-old son Charley, both hailing from Kansas City, Mo., went kayaking on Beaver Lake in Arkansas and have been missing since then.
According to CBS affiliate KCTV, they were last seen leaving the Lost Bridge area of the lake at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. While authorities have been able to recover the kayaks and a life jacket, the father and son have yet to be found, making the search a recovery mission due to the difficult weather conditions.
The Benton County Sheriff's Office is leading the search but has not yet released any official comment. The tragic news has been tough for the family, friends, and bandmates of the missing duo.
The band, which had just finished a tour, has expressed their grief and support for the family. The family friend of the Morris family created a GoFundMe page to help raise money to support them, which has received more than $75,000 as of Tuesday.
Chuck Morris's wife, Jenny, shared a statement on the band's social media page thanking everyone for their support and requesting continued prayers for her missing husband and son.
The incident remains under investigation, and the authorities are doing their best to find the missing individuals despite the harsh weather conditions.
