In a candid revelation, Paris Hilton, the 42-year-old socialite and reality TV star, disclosed her enduring fear of falling asleep, which persisted for years due to the haunting nightmares stemming from her past experiences. Three years ago, Hilton publicly shared the harrowing details of her time as a student at Provo Canyon, a psychiatric youth residential facility in Utah, where she claimed to have faced "verbal, physical, emotional, and psychological" torture.

In an exclusive interview with the Daily Telegraph newspaper, Hilton expressed gratitude for the relief she has found since speaking out about her ordeal. "Up until sharing my story publicly three years ago, I was scared to fall asleep. I wish I could have filmed my dreams and show you what they're like. They're terrifying, and I am grateful to be on a path to healing so I don't have to relive them every night."

The "Paris In Love" star, who recently welcomed her children Phoenix and London with husband Carter Reum, has pledged to transform her pain into purpose by actively campaigning against abusive practices in similar facilities worldwide. Hilton emphasized her commitment, stating, "I was unable to report what I was experiencing, and for over two decades, I bottled up my emotions. But now, I am turning that pain into purpose."

With a fervent desire to protect future generations, Hilton outlined her vision for a future without child abuse in the guise of 'treatment'. "It is my goal that by the time Phoenix and London are teenagers, no child is abused in the name of 'treatment' worldwide, and there are more community-based options to support and serve families. Research shows that is the most effective option."

Becoming a mother has further deepened Hilton's resolve to advocate for change and prevent others from experiencing the trauma she endured. She reflected on her own "stolen" childhood, saying, "This year, I stepped into my most important role as a mother to my beautiful son, Phoenix, and now a beautiful daughter, London. As I dream about the magic of childhood and who they will become, I am constantly reminded of the childhood that was stolen from me. I never want them, or any child, to go through what I did."

Paris Hilton's courageous disclosure sheds light on the urgent need for reform in youth facilities and the broader issue of child abuse, inspiring hope for a future where every child can grow up in a safe and nurturing environment.
