Liza Soberano to Star in Film Adaptation of 'Patron Saints of Nothing'

Filipino actress Liza Soberano is set to star in the upcoming film adaptation of Randy Ribay’s novel “Patron Saints of Nothing.”

Joining her in the cast is Filipino-American actor Brandon Perea and musical theater actor Jon Jon Briones.

While the official announcement has yet to be released as the film is still in the early stages of production, details have been posted on the film’s IMDb page.

Plot and Casting Details

“Patron Saints of Nothing” is a coming-of-age story of Jay Reguero, a Filipino-American teenager who uncovers the truth about his cousin Jun’s murder in the war on drugs under former President Rodrigo Duterte’s administration.

Perea will play the lead role of Jay Reguero, while Soberano will play the role of Mia, a journalism student.

The two team up to uncover the truth and sparks fly as they embark on their mission.

Soberano’s Upcoming Projects

Aside from her role in “Patron Saints of Nothing,” Soberano will also appear in the upcoming “Lisa Frankenstein” movie alongside Kathryn Newton and Cole Sprouse.
